Shilpa Shirodkar's first few films were Gopaala, Kishen Kanhaiya, Bhrastachar, Hum, Gola Barood and Swarg Yahan Nark Yahan. She worked with most of the top heroes of that time like Mithun Chakraborty, Anil Kapoor and Govinda. But her career did not take off because the only thing she had to do was drench herself in rain and sing a couple of songs with the hero.

There came a time in her career when she got some good movies like Aankhen, Chhoti Bahu, Pehchaan and Raghuveer. She mostly worked with Deepak Tijori, Saif Ali Khan and Sunil Shetty. But there are two movies of hers where she really got appreciated. Her performance in films like Gopi Kishan and Mrityudand is still fresh in the audiences' mind.

Despite giving a memorable performance in her last film Mrityudand, things did not work out for her. Her career in the dumps, she had to content herself marrying her Prince Charming, Aparesh Ranjit. Hopefully, marriage will give her the kind of happiness films did not give.
